Major highlights of this specific season are the Mara River Crossing, but the area has many other photographic opportunities including: prides of lions, leopards e.g. the rock formations play a vital role as breeding spot for resident leopards.
Ample shade and fresh water are magnets for an abundance of animals. Another well-kept secret in Kogatende is the Lamai. Known as a triangular watershed region situated just north of the Mara River. Its freshwater sources and lush grasslands play a vital role as a refuge for wildebeests and zebras during the dry season. Interestingly, from July to November, a significant portion of the migration typically resides here, making it one of East Africa's well-kept secrets. Surprisingly, during the dry season, the secluded Lamai Triangle hosts more of the migration compared to the more heavily visited Masai Mara Game Reserve just to the north in Kenya.
