Always Dreamed of an Unforgettable Tanzania Photo Safari?
EXCELLENT Based on 115 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Christina RVerified Absolut empfehlenswert! Posted on Tripadvisor Lydia LVerified Excellent safari and cultural experience We had a great experience with Pumba Safari. We saw all the animals we wanted to see and the itinerary was excellent, including a fascinating visit to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribe. Our guide Keith was very knowledgeable with years of experience. We really enjoyed out trip and highly recommend. Posted on Tripadvisor CURIOASAVerified 8 days northern Tanzania We spent 8 days with Edwin on a northern Tanzania safari: Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Even before we met in person, Edwin stood out from all the other tour operators through his forthcoming and transparent manner. He was the first to give us a detailed breakdown of all the costs, no questions asked. The amount of wildlife he was able to spot was astonishing. On our first day, in the span of just 3 hours we saw: elephant, cheetah, giraffe, lion, zebra, warthog, impala, dik-dik, jackal, gazelle and a plethora of birds. The rest of the days were just as amazing, with a culminating total of 40 different animals and birds on one single day (yes, we keep lists :)). All spotted with the naked eye or a little help from the binoculars. We appreciated Edwin’s resolve to not use the radio chasing from one site to another, in favour of giving us a tranquil experience, immersed in the sights and sounds of the nature without the cacophony of a radio chatter. And the cherry on top - not only is Edwin a fair entrepreneur and excellent guide, but he is a pleasure to spend time with, sharing interesting conversation and insights, topped with a great sense of humour. We were well taken care of and feel very lucky to have met him. Edwin will be opening up his own camp and he spoke with great passion about offering a more immersive experience. He has progressive ideas and his care for the environment, passion for the wildlife and consideration for his country men and women will no doubt set him apart. We wish him the best with his future endeavours and highly recommend his services, be it as a guide, camp operator or just simply conversation with a friend.Posted on Tripadvisor Anniina KVerified Pumba safaris made everything very easy for us and considered us in many matters. Everything worked great! We had such a great time with Pumba safaris. We had Ernest as our guide and he went over and beyond to make our trip great. We saw soo many animals and really enjoyed our trip in Serengeti. We had so much fun with our guide and would recommend this for sure! Posted on Tripadvisor Anne dVerified The time of our lives What an amazing 5 days we had with Pumba. Edwin is just the best. One of the best in his field and we were blessed to have him drive, guide and organise this safari. I have been in Tanzania for 30’yrs and since we met Edwin during the covid months have been blessed to go into the bush with him a few times. He is diligent in working out what you want and then a magician at delivering the very best experience. He loves the bush, reads the bush and is knowledgeable about it tailoring your days to perfection. Thank you for giving my family the time of their lives.Posted on Tripadvisor Sunshine49171671607Verified Trip of a lifetime We have just returned from a five day trip to the Northern Serengeti and Lake Natron with Edwin as our guide. Edwin is extremely knowledgable and passionate. We saw an abundance of wildlife. We witnessed a huge number of Wildebeest on their great migration and were lucky enough to see three river crossings due to Edwin’s wealth of experience. Thank you Edwin! A special thank you also to Maurice and Freddie who ensured both my 12 year old daughter and my Grandmother’s needs were met during the trip.
The best time to go on a safari in Tanzania depends on what you want to see and experience. Generally, the dry season from late June to October is considered the best time for wildlife viewing. During this time, animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. Additionally, the vegetation is less dense, further improving visibility.
However, if you're interested in witnessing the Great Migration in the Serengeti, the best time to visit is from late June to September when millions of wildebeest and other herbivores migrate in search of fresh grazing.
On the other hand, if you're interested in birdwatching, the wet season from November to May might be preferable, as migratory birds are present, and the landscape is lush and green.
Ultimately, the best time for your Luxury Africa Safaris depends on your preferences and priorities. It's a good idea to discuss your interests with a knowledgeable safari operator who can advise you on the best time to visit based on your specific interests.
In Tanzania, there are several safari options available to suit different preferences and budgets:

Walking Safaris: For a more immersive experience, you can explore the wilderness on foot with an armed guide. Walking safaris allow you to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem and encounter wildlife from a closer vantage point.
Balloon Safaris: Experience the breathtaking views of the African plains from a hot air balloon. Balloon safaris typically take place during the early morning hours, offering a unique perspective of the landscape and wildlife below.
Cultural Safaris: Explore the rich cultural heritage of Tanzania by visiting local villages and communities. You can learn about traditional customs, crafts, and lifestyles while interacting with indigenous tribes such as the Maasai and Hadzabe.

The ideal duration for a safari in Tanzania can vary depending on your preferences, budget, and the specific destinations you want to visit. Here are some general guidelines to help you plan:
Short Safari: If you're short on time or on a budget, you can opt for a safari lasting 2 to 4 days. During this time, you can focus on visiting one or two key national parks or reserves, such as the Serengeti or Tarangire, and enjoy game drives to spot the iconic wildlife.
Standard Safari: For a more comprehensive experience, consider a safari lasting 5 to 7 days. This duration allows you to explore multiple national parks and reserves, giving you the opportunity to witness a greater variety of landscapes and wildlife. You can also engage in additional activities such as walking safaris or cultural excursions.
Extended Safari: If you have more time to spare, you can extend your safari to 10 days or more. This allows for a leisurely exploration of Tanzania's top safari destinations, as well as the chance to visit lesser-known parks and reserves. You'll have ample time for game viewing, relaxation, and immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the country.
Specialized Safaris: If you're interested in specific activities such as birdwatching, photography, or cultural immersion, you may want to allocate additional time for your safari to accommodate these pursuits. Specialized safaris can range from a few days to several weeks, depending on the focus and scope of the experience.
Ultimately, the duration of your safari should align with your interests, schedule, and budget. It's important to strike a balance between maximizing your time in Tanzania's wilderness and allowing for relaxation and enjoyment during your safari adventure. Consulting with a reputable safari operator can help you tailor your itinerary to ensure a memorable and fulfilling experience.

Safaris in Tanzania can be suitable for children, depending on their age, interests, and the safari itinerary. Here are some factors to consider when planning a safari with children:
Age: While children of all ages can enjoy a safari experience, it's important to consider the age and maturity level of your children. Younger children may have shorter attention spans and tire more easily during game drives, while older children may be more engaged and interested in wildlife viewing.
Family-Friendly Accommodations: Many safari lodges and camps in Tanzania offer family-friendly accommodations, including family suites, interconnected rooms, and child-friendly amenities such as swimming pools and playgrounds. These accommodations provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for families with children.
Activities for Children: Look for safari itineraries that include activities specifically designed for children, such as guided nature walks, junior ranger programs, and cultural experiences tailored for families. These activities can help children learn about the local wildlife, culture, and environment in an interactive and engaging way.
Flexible Itinerary: When planning a safari with children, consider a flexible itinerary that allows for breaks, rest periods, and downtime between game drives and activities. Children may need time to relax and recharge, especially during long days of wildlife viewing.
Safety Precautions: Safety is paramount during a safari, especially when traveling with children. Make sure to follow the instructions of your safari guide and adhere to safety guidelines at all times, particularly when encountering wild animals. Keep children supervised and within designated areas to ensure their safety.
Health Considerations: Before traveling to Tanzania, ensure that you and your children are up-to-date on vaccinations and take necessary precautions to prevent insect bites and sunburn. Pack essential medications and first aid supplies, and be prepared for any potential health concerns that may arise during your safari.
Overall, with careful planning and consideration, safaris in Tanzania can be a memorable and enriching experience for families with children. It's important to choose a reputable safari operator that specializes in family-friendly safaris and can cater to the needs and interests of children of all ages.

During a Tanzania safari, it's important to prioritize safety to ensure a memorable and trouble-free experience. Here are some safety precautions to be aware of:
Follow Guide Instructions: Always listen to and follow the instructions of your safari guide or ranger. They are trained professionals with expertise in wildlife behavior and safety protocols.
Stay Inside Vehicles: During game drives, remain inside the vehicle at all times unless instructed otherwise by your guide. This helps ensure your safety and minimizes the risk of encounters with potentially dangerous animals.
Maintain Distance from Wildlife: While observing wildlife, maintain a safe distance and avoid approaching animals too closely. Respect their space and avoid behavior that may provoke or disturb them.
Do Not Feed Wildlife: Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited and can be dangerous for both humans and animals. It can habituate animals to human presence and lead to aggressive behavior.
Be Aware of Surroundings: Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings, especially when walking or hiking in wildlife areas. Watch for signs of wildlife activity and listen for alarm calls from animals.
Use Sun Protection: Tanzania's sun can be intense, so it's important to use sunscreen, wear a hat, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Protect Against Insects: Take precautions to prevent insect bites by using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants during dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active, and sleeping under mosquito nets if staying in open-air accommodations.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially in the hot and dry climate of Tanzania.
Respect Local Customs and Culture: Familiarize yourself with local customs and cultural norms, and show respect for the local communities and their way of life.
Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared for emergencies by carrying essential items such as a first aid kit, flashlight, and mobile phone with emergency contacts programmed. Know the location of the nearest medical facilities and how to contact emergency services if needed.
By following these safety precautions and using common sense, you can enjoy a safe and rewarding Luxury Africa Safaris experience in Tanzania.
