Day 2: Arusha Town – Activities & Group Orientation – Under The Shade Resort Arusha Town, cradled between the majestic peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, serves as a welcoming gateway to your safari adventure. Located in close proximity to Kilimanjaro International Airport, this charming town offers an ideal introduction to the warm hospitality of Tanzania. Arusha provides a plethora of experiences, including shopping, cultural interactions, hiking, and abundant sightseeing opportunities. You will have the opportunity to embark on 3 activities.   Shanga Experience – A captivating cultural and artistic journey at Shanga, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creativity.   Arusha Coffee Tour – Embark on a sensory journey through the heart of Tanzania’s coffee culture with the Arusha Coffee Tour, where the aroma of freshly roasted beans meets the rich history of local coffee production. Arusha shopping – grab any personal items you didn’t want to transport from home. Once everyone is onsite (including any flight stragglers), a group dinner / get together to meet your fellow photographers.   Day 3 – Day 6: Southern Serengeti – Woodland camp After breakfast in Arusha, your guide will pick you from your hotel and we will jump right in to the adventure. First up, we will head to Southern Serengeti; an “African massage” awaits you as you take the sometimes-bumpy roads to the Serengeti. You will spend 4 nights in Southern Serengeti with early morning and late afternoon game drives to capture the magical wildlife filled plains. During the lush green season from December to April, this region serves as the habitat for vast migratory herds. Encompassing the renowned Serengeti plains, these fertile expanses are the residence of immense gatherings of wildebeest and zebra. The wildlife spectacle is extraordinary, with over two million animals dispersed across the expansive open plains. Besides the sizable migratory herds, predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are plentiful, presenting the Serengeti in its most magnificent form! Ndutu Area Next up is the Ndutu area, which is outside of the national parks, hence off road permits are not required.  In order to maximize photo opportunities and time shooting, we will explore two different areas, the Western side and the Eastern Side.  We will be staying for three days in each to minimize travel time in the mornings and evenings, and allow us the maximum time shooting when animals are at their full rate of activity and take advantage of the best light. Day 7 – Day 9: Ndutu Area (Western Side) – Angata Camps As of April should say 2023 or 4… the Ndutu region is home to four prides, comprising a collective of 45 lions (excluding visiting groups and nomads). Among them, 49% are adults aged 4 years and older. The marshes of Ndutu serve as a sanctuary for wildlife and form the central habitat for the Big Marsh pride and Thin pride. Livestock is prohibited from entering this area, and the Big Marsh pride relies on wild prey for sustainance. They frequently face challenges in maintaining survival during the harsh and arid conditions of the lean season. Day 10 – Day 12: Ndutu Area (Eastern Side) – Lake Masek Tented lodge Rising prominently over the Matiti Plains is a notable Serengeti feature known as Twin Hills. The picturesque Matiti plains encircling Twin Hills serve as the habitat for extensive herds of wildebeest females during the green season together with the Matiti Pride and Masek pride. This vast plain is the primary location where wildebeests choose to calve between January and March. In contrast to many other antelopes that prefer sheltered spaces for giving birth, pregnant wildebeests congregate on the most open terrain accessible. Remarkably, newborn calves can stand within 10 minutes. Additionally, the Matiti plains are a particularly favorable area for observing cheetahs. Day 13: Ngorongoro transit – Tloma Lodge On this day you will be transferred Tloma Lodge for overnight and relaxation and packing ready for your outbound flight the next day. Arriving

Day’s Highlight The Serengeti National Park is set to amaze you with its variety of wildlife in the coming days. However, for many—especially first-time visitors—the real thrill today may just be the Serengeti landscape itself. The vastness of the plains, stretching endlessly before you, is truly awe-inspiring. Safari in Serengeti National Park Welcome to the Serengeti—Tanzania’s unparalleled natural wonder. Here, the next few days will be filled with spectacular wildlife sightings. Each game drive blends familiar scenes with thrilling unpredictability: you never know what you’ll see or when. The changing light and rotating cast of animal characters ensure that every moment brings something new. Make sure to capture some unforgettable photos, but also take time to breathe in and appreciate the unfiltered beauty of nature as it unfolds around you. Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Lemala Ewanja Day’s Highlight The wildlife in Serengeti National Park is so abundant it might seem like the animals are seeking you out instead of the other way around. The excitement of today’s safari lies in its unpredictability; after all, the animals don’t stick to a published schedule! Depending on the season, we might spot some ‘big cats’ like cheetahs, leopards, and lions on the hunt, making for thrilling viewing opportunities. Safari in Serengeti National Park Today offers a full day immersed in the diverse landscapes of the Central Serengeti. The Seronera River, a lifeline for the park’s wildlife, snakes through this area, providing essential water sources. You’ll also encounter the iconic kopjes—massive rock formations that are as old as 600 million years, predating even the rise of the earth’s continents from the oceans. These granite outcrops are favorite spots for lions and other big cats, and they also shelter snakes and hyraxes. The kopjes, shaped by centuries of wind and rain, reveal their ancient layers upon closer examination. As the seasons change, so does the spectacle of wildlife. During the months of May, November, and December, migratory herds swell the park’s year-round residents, creating an even richer tapestry of animal life. In the rainy season, the plains darken with the massive herds of wildebeest—an incredible sight that underscores the dynamic nature of this ecosystem. Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Lemala Ewanja Day’s Highlight Today’s adventure brings unexpected highlights, including the chance to spot the Kori Bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird.
